2006 Kranzel Bike Mountain biker of the year.
Well, it’s that time of the year. The winter is taking hold, Santa got his fat butt out of town, and we have settled on who is deserving of the prestigious honors of Kranzel Bike Mountain biker of the year. I will have to tell you this was a hands down slam-dunk. Solid performance, determination, and all around great person appeal pointed us directly to two people.

The 2006 men’s pick is none other that last year’s co-winner Brandon Draugelis. Brandon had one kick ass of a year. He had some great finishes in his first year at pro during the NORBA series as well as his top Pro accomplishment to date, 3rd place in the world 24 hour championship. I am proud to Bestow this honor to Brandon. He is a great kid. I have never seen anyone work so hard and still enjoy every ride like it was just another jaunt down the “Camber”. Brandon was a big help to us in our shop while in High School. There is just so much good stuff to say about this guy I just don’t know where to begin. All I can say is if you don’t know who he is yet, you will. OH, and if you do know him ask him about the Christmas pheasant story.

The 2006 woman’s pick is another Cannondale rider. (If you know me you know my personal issues of the big C, but talent is talent no matter who is footing the bill)
Congrats to Bernardita Pizarro. I had met Berne a few years ago at the US open. In the next couple years she had worked and trained hard. She had transformed her Body and her skills to the point that she was no longer just a threat, but a contender. She was off to a great start this season until the stupid little crash at Whistler caused such severe medical problems she almost lost her life. I am so happy that she has recovered and is on the way back. He letters of thanks to all the people, friends and strangers alike show the wonderful person she is. That alone makes her deserving of this award. You go girl!!!

Well that that, ant complaints or problems you can take them up with the nearest Rock. I am sure it will hear you a lot better than I will.

I am outa here.

Rick.
