2006 underway (revised)
 Entry Date: 4/18/2006
Ok, you can please stop the nasty notes and death threats!!!
I know I may have offended some of you , but that is a good thing. It shows that I HAve sparked some bit of passion and conviction in some of you. Please try to remember, this is a think piece. It is not exactly how I think. I am trying to get your blood boiling. I want you to think I am an inconsiderate ass, and to some the oh great and powerfull. I am playing devils advocate . I want all of us to think from all sides of the box, inside and out. What can I do to personally make this sport or recreation or hoby however you want to look at it better.
Also, I can not spell. Hard to believe I almost got a perfect score on my college boards and still cant spell. Believe me, a lot of it is because I cant type, but there are a few words that habitually go wrong. Get over it, it aint going to change and I do not care. Underestimate me if you like, I like it that way.
now with that all said back to the story!!!

well here is todys moment, spelling errors, grammer errors, and basisic non flowing ramblings and all for you to enjoy.

do all know that DH season has officially started. Did anyone know the Sea Otter was this past weekend? I know a lot of you did, but what happened to all the hype???
The Otter is the years big Kick off. The weather was miserable, the courses had to be re routed and the dual got moved to a parking lot. SO FREAKING WHAT!!! So the venue had some problems. Peaty and Hill were sick but they still put on a show. Cedric was out poring his heart out. What about the Manufacturers tents. I know there was a ton of cool stuff there, but all I get to see is the Santa Cruz mannequins everywhere I look.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love looking at hot women both on and off the bike, but On the big kick off of one of the best years in recent past, (on the east coast anyway) I want to be hyped until I piss my pants with excitement and get on my bike and ride till I get diaper rash!! Inspire me with stories and drama based on the stuff I love, bicycles. And more bicycles. I seen a picture of Cody Warren, he looked great on his Magnum, but he had the ugliest looking uniform I have ever seen. Why did I not hear about this before I had to see it in a picture?
We all Blame NORBA for letting the organized US race scene seem substandard, but it seems they are not alone in keeping us poor and below the public radar. I visit a ton of web sites and read enough magazines to kill a few hundred acres of trees a year, but virtually everywhere I look No one is excited about OUR season. I have notices that some magazines that are our first voice into the outside world have been giving the worst race coverage. Do their writers ever walk the course anymore? What ever happened to the blow-by-blow descriptions of what happened? Are they just sitting in the tent and giving results and weather reports or second hand accounts? It reminds me of Hunter Thompson’s coverage of the Baja 500 from Fear and loathing in Las Vegas. Sorry guys to be able to write like the great one you have to live like him and not just copy certain things. What’s up with the sponsors? You give money and help riders, but on your web sites there is no real information of what is going on. There is still crap from the 2005 series on some of your sites. Why would some huge conglomerate pour money into racing if the industry sponsors don’t make a big deal out of their riders? And finally what about us? How many of us actually went to the Otter? I did not see or hear of any group of east coaster trying to get something going so we could represent.
To make a long rant short, that and I am doing this from work, it is Friday, and time to go home. WE ARE ALL partially responsible for the demise of national racing in the USA. We quit too easy and point fingers too quickly. We do not show up at races, we do not get excited or get ourselves in to frenzy. We do not get outsiders interested and we do not support those who say they support us, and those that support us do so very lazily.
Come on everyone let’s get excited, it is riding and racing season 2006. Start a frenzy get some buzz going bring on the hype, it is contagious bring in new people into the sport, new venues and more money, let the world know we are alive well and want to be seen!!!! NORBA needs a transfusion? I think we all do WAKE UP before it is too late.
Now remember The east coast is kicking ass this year. There is more racing going on than anyone can actually affords to do. It is however independent from each other. Would it be great if the venues could join forces for next year and come up with an east coast series? Them maybe the central states and then the west ? Maybe NORBA needs to get back to basics and maybe the guys here in the east could show them whow to get restarted. I want to see us back up to par with the Europeans. Lance Armstrong aint the only adult riding a bicycle in America!!! But that is a complete other rant
