Wow! I think everyone knows how I feel right now. I got to go to whistler the conditions were great. Trails were wide open and the lips of the jumps were nice and poppy. I started riding with steve cominski and the go huck yourself crew. We rode the trails south of Seattle, WA called Softies, the high life line is gonna be so awesome when travis and phil finish it...
The ghy crew have a great set of trails coming along. They also have a flow run that was a good warm up to softies it was way out in the forest of an overgrown closed down community. It wsas good. We were gonna go hit up the 27 st. trails there are so sick drops there. We headed up to vancouver for the John Henry Jam. It was a great event the shop is the biggest one in Vancouver or probably anywhere around there. the ramps were set up like last years event but with a little more flow available if you could make that happen for yourself. The Jones Soda co. and shimano sponsored the contest. The line up of riders was great there were rippers and shredders in the house for the event and riders from Wa, and most of the north west interior. Vancouver has over 15 outdoor rampparks as well as the wicked gnarly rock and steep and rooty trail delivery for you....
I can't wait to get back here and go ride Sqaumish with Shaums. I was driving back from Whsitler and the rock gardens are so badass looking.
Anyway while riding in the comp at Vancouver during the finals, someone tried to steal my downhill bike and steve's and joe's too. off our subaru. They bent the sportsworks front wheel beams up and cut the straps. I can't beleive how easy it is to do hat to them. Well a little girl watched the guys doing it and her father stopped the guy and called the cops. He ran after them but they got away any how. I went to get soemthing out of the car and steve was over at the car bugging out. Then it hit me what happened and I started to bug out too. I was only two hours from whistler and my bike almost got stolen right after I get the parts put on it and a new set of custom wheels.
I was buggin. like where'd he run ???? Luckily I was smart enough to take the pedals off my bike cause he stole steve's first.... good tip cause it worked....
Man, whistler after an after party at the henry jam and meeting digger and finding out about cypress ski resort opening with top to bottom freeriding with all trails and maintanence designed by todd the digger himself!!!!
That's gonna be awesome and it's great to see the mastermind get a place to work in a protected property. The North Shore still rips though! And Squamish.... All on the way to whistler I must tell you. The gravity starts to overwhelm you when driving up cedar skyway on route to whistler. When we pulled into whistler it wasnt overwhelming it was like ride up a street and then bam the ramp park and dirt jump park is sitting right in your face tempting you from the unbeleivable terrain about to reap havock on every inch of you.
I did my first few runs with Jay Hoots, Steve, joe, Lil' Anthony ,josh and jeff. A Iline was the first run and might as well take me to the best right away they say. This trail can be ridden chainless and joe found out immediately because his chain broke. but itwas a treat to pump the floor and get speed up enough to huck about 10 jumps back to back that are all switchbacked along a 30 degree descending run. by the time you get halfway down your out of tricks to do. but flowing the a line is much a deserved warm up.... the crabapple hits were the best shaums and jay ripped me up on that.... talk to you all later ... just a lil news from the trip
