     Ryan & Cale Wary
 6/6/2006 - by RIc
Rather than give a basic run down on the boys from Sunbury. We let their riding speak for itself!!!

Thanks to dad Larry Wary for the updates and the pics. Keep it up guys, great job!!!

Man what a weekend for the boys in MA at the NE Nats!!!

Friday, in the rain, Ryan knocked off a 1st in the Pre-race and Cale a 4th.  Ryan tried a new way of snapping the gate in the motos and had to come from behind each time.  I suggested he go back to the old way and he got out faster, though no holeshot, in the main.  His moves and strength now are really showing.  The trophy truck broke down on the way and the trophies were handed out Saturday morning.

Saturday, in more rain, Ryan again knocks off a 1st , his second National win, and Cale again 4th!  Once again Ryan comes from behind.  (images 90 & 91)

Sunday, with some rain, Ryan got 2nd and Cale made the main and finished in the back, but he made the main!  Ryan’s main was hurried to the gate and he wasn’t clipped when the gate dropped.  He came out near if not last.  The kid that ran second to him in the previous races got out fast.  By the time they got to the last turn, Ryan was underneath him trying to pass.  The other kid had a little more momentum and beat Ryan by a bike length at the line.  He was disappointed but man, what a race for him.  I built a practice gate for them last year and he needs a little more work yet.  I bought a new dvd from ABA on techniques that they watched on the way home.  I think it will help them.

For only racing 2 weeks before this Nats, I’m really pleased with how they did.  They raced in Lebanon’s Race for Life on Sunday, May 21 and the next week, Memorial Day weekend, they did the double Sunday, York and Lebanon.  Cale got his first intermediate win at York and Ryan won both that day.  In only 6 races this year Ryan has won 4 times.  He now has 20 inter wins and is looking forward to becoming an X real soon.  We are planning to run the circuit of State Qualifiers starting the 17th.

Ryan and Cale with their trophies at the top of the hill at the NE Nats.  Sorry for the Answer uniform Cale is wearing, He only has one Redline and it got REAL muddy on Saturday.  We should really get him a second one I think…

Thanks,

Larry
