Erik may be an accomplished rider, but he is a particularly gifted consumer of beer.  He single-handedly supported several distributors through his college years (however many of those there were).  His Camelback is always filled with Yuengling’s finest, and he rarely leaves home without a cooler full of cold ones.  A 12-pack of pounder’s is a mere appetizer for this man’s bottomless thirst.  Lately his behavior has taken a turn for the worse with habitual gambling: five days a week are dedicated to honing his poker skills, whereas those days used to be spent perfecting his smooth riding style.  Road trips to riding spots are now replaced with weekend jaunts to Atlantic City.  Vacations are now spent in Las Vegas.  However, his panache in laying out stylish tabletops remains unhindered, be it on 20”, 24”, or even 26” wheels.

The above narrative was written by Chad Knavel.  In all seriousness, Erik is nothing less that pure entertainment to be around.  We’ve spent years riding and racing our little bmx bikes together, and now have thrown the MTB’s into the mix.  Last year, Erik competed in the Mountain Cross Expert Class, and took 3rd place overall in the Mid-Atlantic Cup.  This year he’ll be a first-time downhiller as well.  But since he can ride and race anything on two wheels, the transition to the big bike won’t faze him one bit.  To the other riders on the team: be ready to be impressed with his riding abilities and, more importantly, to have an all-around great time with the guy.  He and his wife are expecting a baby at the end of May so we may not see him at every event this year, but the team will be fortunate to have him around when he can be.
