This week I am featuring my new friend Danika. Danaka is a great rider and is looking for a bit of help to make it to the world cup circuit. I strongly urge you to dig deep on this one, one day the shoe could be on the other foot and hey, Why not Canada!!!
Hey!
My name is Danika Schroeter and I'm Canada's top female DH racer.
Although I love riding all types of bikes - XC, road, BMX, touring,
and track is pretty fun too. I've won nearly every Canada Cup races in
my three years of racing that circuit, and have some decent
international results as well: 12th at my first world cup, three years
ago, to 6th at the last one I did, last summer at Mount Saint Anne -

in May of 2000 and got into racing a couple years later. I totally dug
it and so I kept racing and travelling around to some fun places in BC
... but as my racing progressed I realized although I was racing for
kicks, I also had some potential to realize. That's where this season
comes in... I'm putting in a big effort to race the complete World Cup
circuit. I am sponsored by a great local company in North Van - COVE
BIKES. But even with their generous support I still need to raise
funds to make this season possible .... I've been selling tee-shirts
locally and I'm having a spanish theme party on April 28th in North
Van... I also coach here and there, and am working on putting together
a women's learn to race dh clinic out in my hood for mid May.
For those of you racing your hearts out and working on your skills and
trying to see how far you can go, keep goin for it! Determination will
get you anywhere you want to go.
