Maxxis Cup International 2006 in Gouveia (POR), The first run would be decisive, as rain visited us during the second run and avoided any time improvement by the riders. The British rider Mark Beaumount finished with the best time in 2.09 and took the “hot seat”. This would be a time hard to beat. Some minutes later, Bernat Guŕrdia (Maxxis-MSC) did an excellent run and stop the time at 2.13, in second place.
Riders were arriving and no one could beat the time of Beaumount and Guŕrdia. But the rainbow jersey, Fabien Barel, was there and achieved a 2.09, advancing Beaumount by some hundreds of second.
The former Maxxis Cup International champion, David Vázquez (Maxxis-MSC) was about to start. His split time was not among the best, but an excellent second section allowed him to cross the finish line in 2.12 and taking the third position.
Barel is the new leader of the Maxxis Cup International 2006. Next event will be celebrated on the 10th and 11th of June in Vallnord (Andorra). The Maxxis-MSC team is waiting for you!
