Aaron Chase Injured in Snowboard Accident

FEBRUARY 1, 2006, ASPEN, CO USA - Aaron Chase was on vacation in Aspen to take in some Winter X-Games action when things went awry.

“Apparently he was riding trees at Aspen Highlands, caught an edge on a cat-track and slid into a tree, breaking his femur,” Says Kara Chase. “He underwent a successful surgery immediately where he received a Titanium Rod and screws.”

“I usually prefer riding hardware as opposed to wearing it,” said Aaron who was in good spirits and, not surprisingly, and already giving the nurses and doctors a hard time.

According Kara, Aaron's wife, he won't be the only one experiencing some discomfort. "I am requesting some sympathy on my end because for those of you who know Aaron he is not one to sit on the couch. He is going to be driving me nuts! I am investing in plenty of PSP games."

The doctor who performed the surgery also repaired Brian Deagan in 2004.  The Metal Mulisha frontman bailed on a 'Mulisha Twist' - the moto version of a 360 - in Aspen at winter X and shattered his femur and both wrists.

The Ace has already undergone 2 sessions of physical therapy and is already walking upstairs with crutches. Doctors expect a full recovery within 8 weeks, after which he’ll be doing some light riding.

Aaron wants to thank all of his sponsors for the continued support: Cannondale, Red Bull, Fox Riders Co., Manitou, Maxxis, DT Swiss, Shimano, SDG and Oakley.

Special thanks to Jamie at Red Bull for being there non-stop since the accident.
