2/22/2008: 2008 seaon is almost here

Hey everyone,
I know it has been a while since you heard from me. I have just been going through a few non inspired months, however I now have a new Muse that has been inspiring me. I am now the proud owner of a Commencal Meta 666
I am slowly bringing in the parts to build her up and will post some pics upon her birth into the riding world. I am , unfortunatly still in Kentucky. It is a long story and I am a bit confused on how to deal with this. The Shop is still my lifes ambition, but I am not yet in the financial position to drop my sell out boring but well paying corperate job. But enough of that!!

I am completely healed from my Crash that caused a week in intensive care and some major damage to one of my kidneys. I have been dieting and exersizing and prepairing for this season.

The Kranzel team will bw back in force with Me, Jake, Jon , Derick, and Steve doing the Dh thing. We are Hoping to see Chad return in some capacity as he is still recovering from his devistating knee injury.

We were hoping the Jon would have been doing the WC thing in Canada, but the Trade team that was being put together fell apart. I cant blame anyone but the UCI, it woulkd have been an expensive endevour. The UCI is just not American Friendly.

Derick who opened everones eyes this past seson will be doing more races this year on his own bike. We will see if he has the abikity to keep shining.

Old guys beware, Jake is hungry as ever this year, and although real world commitnents may not allow him to do every race in the series that we areplanning on racing, he will be out for the win in the ones he does.

This is once again going to be one hot season on the east coast with more races than anyone can possibly afford to attend. series in MD, NJ, WV, NY, and VT.
The new National venue at Windham resort in upstate NY as well as the Nationjal Championships once again at Mount Snow, VT.

Well All I have got to go..... For now, My Meta is

VERNON, NEW JERSEY (February 22, 2008) – Diablo Freeride Park, located only 47 miles from downtown New York City, announced today that preliminary details regarding the sixth annual U.S. Open of Mountain Biking are now available. Official online athlete and team registration will begin March 7th at 9am. Historically, the U.S. Open field is predominately pre-registered and all interested participants are urged to register in advance to secure their qualifying position.

In 2007, nearly 450 downhill-specific racers from 7 different countries and 37 different states, convened at Diablo Freeride Park to vie for America’s most prestigious gravity title; the U.S. Open.

The U.S. Open legacy continues in 2008 by offering one of downhill mountain biking’s richest cash purses in the world with top finishers, both men and women, receiving a staggering $5,000 cash payout for the win. In addition, the U.S. Open provides up-and-coming racers with the rare opportunity to mix with and compete against some of the top gravity athletes in the world. “We feel very strongly about the U.S. Open format and providing aspiring downhill racers with the unique opportunity to compete at the highest level without redundant licensing and class restrictions” said Shawn Orecchio, Diablo General Manager. “At the Open, there’s no hiding behind excess classes … Simply put, the fastest racer wins.”

Slalom fans rejoice! For the first time in U.S. Open history, the event will feature a Dual Slalom discipline to add to the racing excitement. With the assistance of the Diablo Gravity Team, Diablo course designers will construct a unique Dual Slalom mixing traditional slalom traits with a unique blend of elements and features. “We are very excited to be offering a Dual Slalom discipline to the U.S. Open”, said Orecchio. “Popularity and demand for Dual has increased in recent years and it is our goal to provide a course that will truly rejuvenate the discipline in our area”.
